Google Search Console and Yoast SEO

Yoast SEO is one of the best SEO (search engine optimisation) plugins on the market. One functionality that is not to be ignored is integration with Google Search Console.

Google is the search engine of choice for majority of web users in Europe and therefore it is not wise to ignore its web designer tools. Google Search Console offers website owners insights into how people find your website.

For a non-technical user it is a bit tricky to enable Google Search Console, however Blue Star team is happy to help.

First step is to login into Google Search Console with your Google account.

The next step is to add a website (use “Add property” command). This will ask for your website URL, such as

We recommend to use “Domain name provider” verification method based on CNAME alias. If our company is responsible for management of your website DNS please contact us – we will be able to help. Otherwise just follow Google’s instructions on how to create a CNAME record or use one of alternative website ownership verification methods.

Once your ownership is established, go to the console and see Google’s insights into how your website appears in search. It may take few days before Google displays data.

Not to be missed is to integrate Google Console into Yoast SEO plugin for WordPress. You need to navigate to “SEO” -> “Search Console” menu and authenticate with Google. This will grant Yoast SEO access to your Google Console. This is a bit of a security risk, but it is worth accepting – you will get insights right inside WordPress Dashboard!
